How Long To Boil Rice (White Rice)

Put rinsed rice and water in a pot over high heat and bring to a boil uncovered. Once the water is reduced, turn down to a very low heat and cover the pot with the lid. Allow the to cook for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender. When done, let the rice sit for 5 minutes covered. Then fluff with a fork and serve.

1. Use Enough Water

If you don’t add enough water, the rice will be underdone and likely burn on the bottom. If you add too much water, the rice will be mushy.

2. Do Not Cover While Boiling
